FAQs

Can I bring my children to CYY?

The Conference on the Young Years is specifically planned and available to meet the professional development needs of adults in the field of early childhood. In order for all presenters to have the full and undivided attention of the participants, we ask those attending with children not to bring them to the presentations.

Can I get Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for attending CYY?

I need an Official Certificate of Attendance for child care clock hours or CEUs.

After the conference, an Official Certificate of Attendance will be emailed to all participants who registered with a valid MOPD ID and scanned their name badge appropriately.

Please allow approximately 30 days after the conference to receive your official certificate. Participants who provided a MOPD ID number will have their attendance uploaded to the Missouri Workshop Calendar.

In-service hours are available as follows:

  • Day 1 (up to six hours)
  • Days 2 and 3 (up to 10 hours)

I need verification of the sessions I attend for my administrator.

After the conference, an Official Certificate of Attendance will be emailed to all participants who scanned their name badge appropriately. Please allow approximately 30 days after the conference to receive your official certificate.

Can I come to Thursday and Friday only and pay a reduced fee for not attending on Saturday?

A. No, the conference fees are set up for Thursday Only or Friday and Saturday.
We are unable to split up the Friday/Saturday rate.

Could I skip my lunch and go to a presentation instead?

A. While we love your enthusiasm, we ask that each participant select a lunch time. This helps with the flow of the lunch hours and the number of people in the presentations offered during the lunches. Take this time to have some lunch, network, and enjoy the showcases and exhibits!

I do not need clock hours or verification of my attendance; do I still have to have my badge scanned at the end of each presentation?

A. No, you do not. If you do not need a record of your attendance at each of the sessions for any reason, you do not have to scan your badge.

How many clock hours are available at the 2020 Conference on the Young Years?

A. There are up to 6 child care clock hours available on Day 1 (Thursday). There are up to six child care clock hours available on Day 2 (Friday), and there are up to four child care clock hours available on Day 3 (Saturday).

If I miss having my badge scanned at the end of a presentation, can I have it scanned later?

A. Unfortunately, no. If you need clock hours or verification of your attendance at each session, please be sure to have your badge scanned. We will be unable to re-create a scan once the next session begins.

I see the Showcases listed on the schedule. What are those exactly? Do I need a ticket to visit the showcase room? Can anyone stop and visit them?

A. The Showcases give all CYY participants the opportunity to view successful tools and resources that benefit early childhood education, visit with presenters demonstrating strategies for best practices, and network with other early learning colleagues and home visiting groups.

Check out the schedule for times and location.
